Cassina Superleggera Chair

The Superleggera Chair is elegant, minimal and lightweight. Designed by Gio Ponti, widely regarded as a master of design, the chair is the result of a creative collaboration between designer and entrepreneur. The chair has been expertly refined through decades of hard work, originally inspired by the work of the furniture artisans of the Ligurian coast. In its latest edition, the chair is available in natural ash, black lacquered or with a white frame, a classic and beautiful addition to any interior.

Eames DSW Chair

Designed by Charles & Ray Eames in 1950, the DSW Chair has got true staying power. The couple explored the idea of a one-piece plastic seat shell moulded to the contours of the human body, making drawings and prototypes over a number of years before they reached their conclusion. The DSW Chair was one of the very first mass-produced plastic chairs in the history of design. Its multifunctional personality has contributed to its formidable reputation – switch out the wooden base for the metal, making a sculptural yet elegant form.

Fredericia J39 Chair

The Fredericia J39 Chair was designed by Børge Mogensen in 1947 as part of ‘The People’s Collection’ of furniture, acquisitioned in the 1950s by Fredericia. Based on the philosophy of folk furniture from the Mediterranean, Mogensen wanted to create a chair with a tranquil and unpretentious aesthetic – something that would, inevitably, be timeless. A trained cabinet maker, his designs favoured more traditional materials: solid wood, papercord and brass components, creating furniture that is modest as well as breathtakingly beautiful.

Fritz Hansen Series 7 Chair

One of the best selling chairs of all time, the Series 7 Chair by Arne Jacobsen is instantly recognisable. Designed in 1955 but made famous in 1963 in a photograph of Christine Keeler shot by Lewis Morley, the chair has seen huge success with over five million estimated to have been sold. Made of only two pieces – form-pressed plywood and metal legs, the chair is elegant in its simplicity. Now existing in a myriad of different colours and wood finishes, the chair has evolved to suit the modern home. Its lightweight form makes it an ideal dining chair – stackable, so that when more guests than expected turn up at your door, they too can have a seat at the table.

Gubi Beetle Chair

GamFratesi designed the Beetle Chair for Gubi in 2012. Inspired by the anatomy of a beetle with its hard shell and exterior patterning, the result is a beautifully formed dining chair with unrivalled comfort. The Tulip Chair, designed in 1957 available as both a side chair and armchair, is an iconic design by Eero Saarinen. Both futuristic and classic, yet somehow retaining its organic form, the chair is perfect for a modern interior, epitomising the social change that happened in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
