Starck vehemently believes this poetic and political, rebellious and benevolent, pragmatic and subversive duty should be shared by everyone. Today we bring some of this creation in the shape of astonishing tables!
“A masterpiece sculpture, a fascinating and timeless dining table.” Ph.S
Philippe Starck extended the Aunts&Uncles family with his latest table, Sir Gio. This sculpture-like and timeless design reflects the designer’s obsession to create maximum of effect with a minimum of materiality embodied by the strictly transparent polycarbonate base of the table.
Plastic rightly raised to the rank of precious material, rare, technological.
New moulding techniques, unthinkable few years ago, metallic and sparkling finishing touches, for a more contemporary image, coherent with current tastes, new item families opening to a product range for which plastic is a new formal language and that widen the Kartell offer to other worlds than the habitation one.
“A coffee table which does not need any art book as it is itself a piece of art.” Ph.S
“When human know-how and technology create a miracle, glass becomes graceful poetry”. Ph.S
“A few pretty miracles, made by a maker of miracles, Glas Italia. It is difficult to do less that the Mari Cristal table, essentially all glass.” Ph.S
“Rae Orrgray is not a table, it’s a mental construction game. As we get closer to the function, the practicality and the minimum, we always find elegance.” Ph.S
